HC Davos
Host Davos won its 16th Spengler Cup title in 2023 and is now the record title holder together with Team Canada. This triumph came as a bit of a surprise to many, but HCD had deservedly won a high-quality tournament with four perfect games.
In a spectacular semifinal match at the last tournament, the host had to bury its hopes of defending the title against the eventual champion Fribourg-Gottéron. Nevertheless, HC Davos proved that the team is strong enough to regularly contend for the title again.
2025 presents another opportunity to reclaim the position as the sole record holder. In 2019, Team Canada took this record from the host with their 16th tournament victory. However, in 2023, Davos managed to draw level once more.
